April Showers bring May...Weddings?

I don't know who first said "April showers bring May flowers," but I personally think they are mistaken. From all of my experience, a shower in April means a wedding in May or June. Two years ago, I hosted showers for my friends, last year my friends hosted showers for me and I attended showers for my friends.
